Mr. Ma’at is a seasoned professional with 15 years of management experience including project management and program development. He has a unique talent for executing special projects, leveraging business relations, and excelling in diverse, complex, high-performance based organizations. Mr. Ma’at earned his Bachelor’s Degree from American InterContinental University (AIU) in 2006 and became a Certified Entrepreneurship Teacher July 2009 through the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). Upon earning his degree, Mr. Ma’at enjoyed a rewarding career working as a Project Manager for one of the largest global commercial real estate companies.
Although his project management profession was rewarding, his real passion and desire involved improving the lives of black children and youth. Mr. Ma’at has a natural and strong understanding of young people and the issues they face along with the ability to build strong healthy relationships, motivate and break down barriers with troubled youth. This is demonstrated through his work in the Washington, DC community as a Mentor, Educator, and Child & Youth Care Practitioner.
Mr. Ma’at is the Founder and current Executive Director of the Brave Heart Entrepreneurial Youth Camp, a 501 (c)(3) Washington, DC based youth focused nonprofit practice. He is the founder of; The Bookshelf Project, a local DC literacy initiative; He is a member of the DC Association for the Education of Young Children, NAACP DC Branch; the Association for Child and Youth Care Practice (ACYCP) ,and also a member of the National Black Child Development Institute (NBCDI).
As a youth advocate and motivational speaker, Mr. Ma’at’s primary message to youth focuses on self-empowerment through entrepreneurship. However, he places equal emphasis on encouraging youth to acknowledge and appreciate the power within and realize that right thoughts and right efforts will eventually bring right results in their lives.
